Oh happy mail day ......

a few weeks ago i decided to sign up for the Jellywares autumn yarn club .  for the past few years my life has been filled with the thrill of making quilts and occasionally new clothes. My creative life centered around my sewing machine.  but when i was very young wool was the medium i worked with more than anything. When i was little my mum crocheted, at one point when there was very little money my mum would buy old handmade jumpers /cardigans and unravel them so she could make crochet blankets. My job was to roll the wool into balls. The other major influence in my childhood was Cookie, our lovely elderly neighbor from across the road. Cookie was a prolific knitter. i spent many afternoons after school at Cookie's house waiting for my parents to come home from work. it didn't take long with my all consuming desire to learn for Cookie to teach me to knit. she had an abundance of scraps of wool and i would toil away making scraps of knitting. I ve been pretty busy, as usual filling every spare moment i can trying to  achieve all the things i want to do as you all know i love mucking around in the kitchen as much as i love sitting at my sewing machine. well a few months ago Gadget decided he would have a go at some gardening inspired mainly by the constant frustration of throwing away half used fresh herbs. unfortunately our basil keeps going to seed, is this normal? one of the most successful plants we had was the chilli's they just thrived ..... so what do you do with a heap of chilli's? well  . . . . i make chilli jam . . . . this was truly so easy and it taste's just great. then of course i love baking this week i was inspired by the instagram feeds of Jellywares and Indigo and Quince munching away on their crumble cakes so  i googled myself up a recipe and tahh dahh Apple and pomegranate crumble cake it was really lovely i only had a small bit  as i a
