Friday night with friends

my post is a little late (as usual) but i did take part in FnwF one of the things i really love doing is making up my own pattern Now i am definitely no designer  but i do occasionally get inspired and have a play at making up my own pattern so this friday night i had a play i used some left over fabric from my scrubs and used some special heat resistant wadding and did some quilting, i used this really cool wavy stitch my machine can do almost finished . . . . doesn't the wavy stitch look cool . . .  i cut out this really cool kidney shape and made two pockets for the back stitched some binding on and  taadahhh my new pot holder i hope you had a great friday night stitching with friends Ciao

a very special delivery

This post is a little late, i would like to apologise to my secret santa last friday i had a very special delivery off the Chookyblue secret santa christmas swap sleigh i am not sure who my secret santa is yet but i received my two lovely presents the one above is my decoration which i was allowed to open it's a gorgeous knitted decoration which will go perfectly with my norwegian knitted christmas decorations can't wait to get them all out together to show you above is my beautifully wrapped christmas day present can't wait to see whats inside 20 sleeps to go ciao

a sigh of releif

I LOVE starting new projects. . . . I really do, just like every other quilter/sewer i know. . . . . and i have lot's of projects on the go . . . . .but what i also really love is finishing projects. . . . . . I love that sense of achievement when something is finished and i can say . . i Made that . . . . . . .  it's finished I also love that amazement when i look at the top of my sewing cabinet and go wow that's right that's the colour of the cabinet . . . .as the mountain of projects have magically disappeared. you see i need to confess that i have a very annoying illness, i need things to be tidy. . . .  yeh i know, i know . . . . . but i can't help it i just really like a bit of order, it makes me feel good . . . . so now your thinking i am going to have heaps to show you . . . .  nope can't show you yet. . . .  it's secret stitching , I have been very fortunate to be part of Chookyblue's secret santa swap for 2012 these lovely wrapped

Friday night with friends

Well i can't show you what i worked on on friday night, because i worked on my secret stitching. . . . . nearly done. but what i can show you is a project that i completed recently i have been part of a sewing class specifically created for my model sewing machine. the classes are held at  thorpe and co  newcastle and each month we are taught different skills and functions our machines can do decorative stitches couching the simple stunning difference a triple needle can make to an ordinary stitch how to put an invisible zipper in and how to do cording it was a great project and it was alot of fun playing with the machine i hope your hands are working on something that you love Ciao Googy Girl

I'm Back.... and so is my sewing Mojo

well we have been back for a while really, about 3 weeks almost. Things have been flat out as usual in our house and getting to sit down at the computer has been a challenge and also i have been working flat out trying to get some very special secret sewing done but this is what i can show you after seeing a quilt made from these 1" pointed thimbles, i just had to have a go, not sure of the final project this will be probably a pillow....  these were put together whilst we driving around Tasmania and i am so excited because i can actually sew the thimbles together whilst gadget is driving the car... so i can see EPP is going to be something that will always be in the car for road trips Anni Downs "sing bag", from her "the simple life" book... i purchased the kit in Sydney in June just need to get the lining done some new fabric , to make some bright summer skirts and here is some photo's of Peg & Dale tha

the adventures of Peg and Dale in Tasmania

Hi everyone, I bet you thought we had just disappeared , well we haven’t we have been very very busy……. Googy girl, gadget boy and Miss S took us across the Tasman sea . . . . . . . . On this . . . . . . . . The seas were very rough and we were very glad that Miss S took us into her bed and kept us company. But we woke to a beautiful day in Tasmania For the first week or so we stayed at Launceston we went to see so many things We went to Cataract Gorge Yep we did some modeling And we got to ride across the gorge on a chair lift, it was a little nerve racking We got to meet this young man, he was very strange when he met us he made some strange noises and his tail stood right up on end…….very strange We go to visit some heritage homes Here we are waiting at the gate Clarendon House We went for a very long drive and visited the Bridstowe lavender farm, unfortunately the lavender was
