Monday stitching day
I have been wanting to do this post all week, but for one reason or another I have nt been able. . . .
So on Monday I decided to have a bit of a sewing day
I finished off my top from this Post
I am really happy with the top
although I think I will make it in the next size down
Next time
It is really comfortable and I already have some material for the next one and have decided to try some new techniques with the next one.
Because of my wonderful weekend in the chookshed I finished my winding ways quilt so I needed to go digging in my PHD (project half done) box (s) and i decided to get back to working on the block of the month that I started in
Gulp....2009
I posted about it way back Here
So I layed out all the pieces and worked out my colours
This block is called Star of Wonder
There are four of these blocks each has different colours,
In the gaps that you can see are flying geese blocks and with this set I received a flying geese ruler designed by Eleanor Burns
Two squares of fabric are stitched together as per the directions resulting in this block
Then using the ruler the blocks are trimmed to size
Resulting in these perfectly sized flying geese blocks, later on in the quilt I get to make lots and lots of these blocks
I am glad i dug this project back out, i am enjoying using some different techniques. I was also stunned at how pretty this quilt is when finished, and I am now wondering why I ever stopped . . . .
I did hope to have a finished block to show you, but it s been a busy week so . . . . .you ll have to wait and see
