Fabric shopping in Surry Hills

This weekend was originally planned for a trip to the blue mountains for gadget and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary, however in life plans often change and gadget had a meeting for work in Sydney and Miss S needed fabric for her year 12 major work so off to Surry Hills we headed . . . . .

Fabric shopping, not my normal fabric shopping, not patchwork fabric but dressmaking fabric

We visited three shops
Tessuti Fabrics in Commonwealth st

Lot s of really gorgeous fabrics and friendly staff.

Then we headed to the

The Fabric Shop in Copper st

Again some really gorgeous fabrics, patterns and sewing paraphernalia

Then we went to

E & M Greenfield

Wow what a collection of sewing bits and pieces



They had aisles and aisles of zippers in every colour you could possible desire, just look at the colour card above . . . . .




brooches, buckles , buttons, beads and more lace then you could ever desire




So many bolts of fabric . . . . . In every shade and type you could possibly imagine






And shelves and shelves of ribbon, they also had scissors , pins, threads and all the other sewing items you could possibly want . . . . .

It was like being a kid in a candy store but better, these things will last longer than an all day sucker . . . . . .
