Uluru, Uluru, Uluru

Ok so for me this trip , really was all about Uluru.The images below are just a few of the . . . Well couple of hundred I’ve taken 

We first seen Uluru from the sand dune just behind the caravan park.  But decided that to really see it we had quite a few choices , so we started with an early morning helicopter ride, now I never ever win raffle prizes or money from lotto or anything like that so as I stood before the pilot ( probably with the biggest puppy dog eyes ever) I hit the jackpot and he chose me to sit in the front . . . It was so cool, my first helicopter ride and I get to see one of Australia’s most iconic features. . .

Pretty excited was an understatement 

We then thought let’s get up close and personal.We thought we could walk around or ride a bike , but no we decided to do a Segway tour, so we would have a guide be in a small group and see the monsterous rock. Again this was another first for me and I was a bit anxious ,I can still here my girls voices saying “mum you are going to fall off and break something “ well I didn’t I am super proud to say

The Segway actually brought out the kid in me as I wizzed around it was so much fun ... but back to the tour, it was amazing and I totally recommend it, our guide was really informative pointing out the sacred sites and providing us with some information about why they were sacred 

We also had the opportunity to see inside a caveand see some indigenous art work, we were allowed to take photos and again our guide explained what each price of art represented.

So this is Uluru at sunset, yep I dragged gadget out 2 hrs before the sun went down so I could pick my spot, we settled in and we waited. I took a lot of photos, seriously ALOT ,( i ve deleted the majority off my iPad already and still have 21 which I just can’t cull) we got chatting to a few people who waited patiently with us ( the sunset viewing area is huge and it was filled to capacity 1hr before the sun set, with some people standing on the roofs of their vehicles to get a photo) we even traded a cold bottle of wine for a hot one so a lovely young couple could watch the sunset in style. 

It was totally worth it 

Uluru is truely a very special place and it will remain in my heart forever.
