Newcastle to Broken Hill

Yesterday morning seen us on the road at 3:30am. Apparently gadget ( my husband) had been
awake for 1 1/2 before he woke me , which means by the time I was woken he had a thermos in the car and my travel mug had freshly made tea.

We travelled to just after Denman and admitted defeat and pulled over to a roadside rest area and had a snooze in the car. All I can say is that the car seats are a lot better to snooze in then aeroplane seats.... lol

We enjoyed the sights of Dunnedoo whilst enjoying breakfast, it was pretty cold so it was a quickstop and we were back on the road

Our aim was to spend our first night in Cobar.  We arrived about 1:30 pm and were both feeling like continuing so we fueled up and kept moving.

Another fabulous roadside area hosted us for lunch and we were off again....

From Cobar to Broken Hill the view was pretty much the same with some variation in the types ofplants and the occasional sighting of wild goats,it was around Wilcannia that we both agreed thatwe had probably pushed it a bit to far. But in for a penny in for a pound so we pushed on with lots of loud singing and my reading to keep gadget going....

We pulled in at our destination the lovely BrokenHill Outback Resort at 4:30pm (SA time) set the lovely Bridget ( our van) and headed to the lovelybar...

For wine o’clock and dinner.  It was an early night for both of us. But a great first day.  Lots of car knitting, sewing and reading was achieved.  Hopefully from know we won’t be traveling such huge distances and the blog will be much more interesting.

À bientôt
